Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A presentation of the draft Presidential Decree “On priority measures to implement a strategic planning system” took place in Tashkent.

The event, organized by the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ASR) with the support of the Good Public Governance Program from GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), brought together more than 35 participants. Among them were strategic planners from more than 20 ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, as well as international experts.

Strategic planning is considered an important element for achieving government goals. Over the past 10 years, many countries around the world have introduced strategic planning systems in public administration.

First Deputy Director of the ASR Abdulla Abdukadirov noted in his welcoming speech that the decree will become a key element for the future development of Uzbekistan, creating a coordinated and effective strategic planning system.

GIZ Country Director in Uzbekistan Joachim Fritz expressed gratitude for the development of a decree that will bring practices to international standards and increase the efficiency of strategic planning processes in public administration of Uzbekistan. He also confirmed the readiness of German cooperation to support this important initiative.

At the meeting, participants conducted a comprehensive analysis of the key steps required for effective strategic planning in Uzbekistan. A significant part of the seminar was devoted to the methodology for monitoring the development, coordination and implementation of strategic planning documents. International experts emphasized the importance of systematic monitoring and evaluation for the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
