Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan plans to invest approximately US$100 million in creating a poultry cluster.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution "On measures to further support the poultry industry, introduce modern genetic technologies, and promote cooperative systems."

As part of this resolution, 400 hectares of land will be allocated across six regions of the country to establish the poultry cluster.

During the first stage, a breeding enterprise with a capacity of 100,000 heads will be established in the Zaamin, Bakhmal, Bulungur, and Gallaaral districts.

In the second stage, similar enterprises will be set up in the Akhangaran and Parkent districts, with a total capacity of 135 million birds per year.

Additionally, plans include the construction of a feed mill with a capacity of 700,000 tons and a processing plant capable of handling 100,000 tons of meat annually.

The total investment in the cluster will amount to US$100 million, with US$40 million provided by international financial institutions, US$35 million from the Reconstruction and Development Fund of Uzbekistan through Microcreditbank, and US$25 million invested by the project initiator.

According to the Agency of Statistics, as of 1 May, Uzbekistan produced 544,700 tons of meat, marking a yearly increase of 3.5%. Egg production also rose by 7%, reaching 1.4 million.
