A number of legislative acts to be brought into line with the new Constitution

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan, changes and additions were made to some legislative acts to bring them into compliance with the new Constitution.

The ministries, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Supreme Court have been instructed to submit proposals to the Ministry of Justice on bringing regulatory documents into compliance with the new edition of the Constitution by 1 January 2024. Particular attention will be paid to the following issues:

- ensuring guarantees of the right to property, based on the constitutional norm that the owner cannot be deprived of his property (except in cases provided for by law and on the basis of a court decision);

— revision of all legal documents based on the constitutional requirement that human rights and freedoms can be limited only in accordance with the law;

— revision of legislative acts on the basis of the constitutional norm that legal measures applied by state bodies against a citizen must be based on the principle of proportionality and be sufficient to achieve the goals provided for by laws;

— ensuring the right to the inviolability of housing, revising regulatory documents on the basis of constitutional norms that no one can be deprived of housing without a court decision and in a manner contrary to the law;

— revision of regulatory documents in accordance with the constitutional norm on the unity of economic space, free movement of goods, services, labor resources and financial resources on the territory of Uzbekistan.
