A number of agreements were reached in the leather and footwear industry in Minsk

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the invitation of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, the parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva is visiting the country on an official visit. One of the events included in the agenda of the visit is the First Belarusian-Uzbek Women’s Business Forum. It took place from 5 to 7 September in Minsk. The business program of the forum is eventful, including breakout sessions.

A separate section of the forum was reserved for light industry. At this site, representatives of the leather and footwear industry of our country also participated in the discussion of further prospects for the development of the industry.

During a visit to the Minsk Leather Production Association, an agreement was signed for the supply of semi-finished leather products (wet-blue). The finished, processed leather will be brought back to Uzbekistan for further sewing of children’s shoes. This agreement was reached by the management of the plant and the Uzbek enterprise Charogon Invest.

In addition, within the framework of the forum, an agreement was signed with the Marko concern to create another enterprise in Karshi, specializing in the production of fur skins. The volume of investments will be US$2.5 million.

During the visit, a memorandum of cooperation with Bellegprom was also signed.

During the First Belarusian-Uzbek Women’s Business Forum, a plenary meeting was held, on the margins of which a special declaration was adopted. It will form the basis of a roadmap for the implementation of contracts and agreements concluded within the forum.

The potential of the Uzbek leather and footwear industry was presented to the participants of the plenary session and an image video was demonstrated.

Also within the framework of the forum, the National Exhibition “Made in Uzbekistan” is taking place, where shoes from Uzbek manufacturers also take their place.
