Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The head of the Government has changed in Kazakhstan. A 43-year-old Olzhas Bektenov became the Prime Minister. 
After the approval of his candidacy by the President, new appointments and reassignments took place in the Cabinet of Ministers. The international news agency Kazinform offers an overview of personnel changes.

New faces in the Government

Olzhas Bektenov became the youngest Prime Minister in the history of Kazakhstan. Before that, he was the head of the Presidential Administration. As political scientist Daniyar Ashimbaev noted, the new Prime Minister has experience working in central and regional authorities. He is considered a tough and principled leader, loyal to the Head of State.

- He has developed good practice in the fight against corruption, the return of illegally withdrawn assets, and monitoring the execution of the President’s orders.

The criteria by which he comes to the Government are partly the same as when he was appointed to the post of head of the Presidential Administration. The president needs a strong and decisive organizer, not involved in scandals, who can, as a kind of external manager, optimize the operation of the system and aim it at specific results,” the expert shared in his Telegram channel.

Nurlan Baybazarov became Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy.

Also among the new faces is the former deputy head of the State Security Service - the head of the Presidential Security Service, Chingis Arinov, who was appointed Minister of Emergency Situations.

The ex-chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, deputy Madi Takiev became the Minister of Finance.

Senator Akmaral Alnazarova replaced Azhar Giniyat as Minister of Health.
 
Retained their positions in the Government

Roman Sklyar remained the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Tamara Duisenova and Serik Zhumangarin remained as deputy prime ministers.

The post of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs continued to be occupied by Murat Nurtleu, Deputy Prime Minister - Head of the Government Staff - Galymzhan Koishybaev.

Thus, there are five new faces in the Cabinet of Ministers. Of the 26 people appointed in the Government today, 4 are women. This is 15% of the total.

The average age is 50 years. The youngest is 37-year-old Marat Karabaev, the oldest is 63-year-old Erlan Nysanbaev.
