Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Presidential Resolution “On measures to organize the activities of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation” was adopted.

According to the Resolution, from 1 October 2024, the following penalties will be applied for violations in the field of technical regulation:

- for failure to comply with orders to withdraw from circulation products or recall at least 60 percent of products that do not comply with the requirements of regulatory documents in the field of technical regulation - a financial sanction to legal entities in the amount of 100 percent of the cost of products sold;

- upon confirmation of the facts of production and sale of products that do not comply with the requirements of regulatory documents in the field of technical regulation - suspension by the Inspectorate for Control in the field of technical regulation of the certificate of conformity issued for these products;

- if factors in the sale of low-quality products are identified as a result of non-compliance with the rules (including failure to assess the conformity of products with all mandatory indicators) by the certification body - the Inspectorate will suspend the activities of this certification body.

In order to create a corruption-free and transparent system in the field of technical regulation, the National Information System “Technical Regulation” will be introduced by 1 January 2025.
