A National Center for Assessment and Training of Technical Skills is being created in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Cabinet of Ministers adopted resolution “On measures to organize the activities of the National Center for Assessment and Training of Technical Skills based on a grant from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).”

The state program for the implementation of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022–2026 in the “Year of Care for People and Quality Education” envisages the training of in-demand professions for 160 thousand unemployed and job seekers, of which at least 5 thousand must confirm their professional qualifications and present qualification passports.

The document stipulates:
Creation of the National Center for Assessment and Training of Technical Qualifications in the form of an educational state institution under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction
based on a grant from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA);
transformation of educational and consulting offices at the Ishga Markhamat monocenters.

Main tasks of the Center are:
professional development, retraining and advanced training of industrial education teachers, engineers, as well as other managers directly related to educational activities;
development of proposals for improving the national qualifications system of Uzbekistan based on international standards and advanced foreign experience, as well as increasing its effectiveness;
development of proposals for improving professional standards by establishing effective cooperation with foreign organizations and scientific communities;
creation of educational and methodological tools and scientific literature suitable for training specialists in professions in demand on the labor market.
 
From 1 June 2024:

teachers of monocenters and vocational training centers “Ishga Markhamat”, as well as teachers will be equated to teachers

vocational educational institutions, and the benefits and guarantees of social protection provided for these workers will be applied to them;

the amount of remuneration paid to foreign specialists for work performed is determined by the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction

based on their qualifications, experience and scope of work assigned to them.
