The priority directions for organizing scientific and practical research work in the field of criminology in the republic are:

determining a system of measures to identify and eliminate the true factors of crime based on a comprehensive scientific diagnosis, introducing artificial intelligence and modern digital technologies into criminological activities.

The Institute is a basic scientific organization in the field of criminology and, within the limits of its authority, coordinates work on expert and scientific support for criminological activities.

The scientific positions of the Institute are staffed by personnel with scientific degrees in the fields of law, psychology, sociology, pedagogy, technology, economics, medicine and geography.

The Institute is granted the right to involve, for a period of up to one year, qualified specialists with high scientific and analytical skills, including from leading foreign research institutions, in the process of scientific and practical research on a contractual basis, determining the amount of their remuneration taking into account market conditions.

By 1 July 2024, the “Jinoyat omillari” (factors of crime) module of the unified automated information system “E-jamoat havfsizligi” will be created, providing mechanisms for identifying crime factors based on scientific diagnosis.
