Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of the Working Group to prepare a draft model agreement “On ensuring mutual recognition of documents of migrant workers of member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States” was held on 28 December at the headquarters of the CIS. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States and the Commonwealth Executive Committee.

Experts agreed to change the title of the document to “Model Agreement on Ensuring Mutual Recognition of Documents of Migrant Workers of Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States.”

Having also considered and discussed comments and proposals to the draft model agreement, the meeting participants made a number of additions and clarifications to the text and spoke out for the need for additional elaboration of the terminology and its other provisions.

It was decided to hold the next meeting of the Working Group in March 2024.
