Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 February 2023, Jahongir Israilov, head of the PPP department of Tashkent khokimiyat, received a World Bank delegation led by a public-private partnership specialist, Elena Timusheva. 

The meeting was held as part of the World Bank mission for technical assistance to the government of Uzbekistan in the program and investments in the framework of PPP.

Jahongir Israilov informed the guests about the tasks of the Tashkent Khokimiyat in attracting business for public-private partnerships in various projects. 

Elena Timusheva, in turn, said: the main tasks of the mission are to review the results of the development of PPP and develop practical recommendations in various activities, including the provision of technical assistance and discussion of next steps under this program.

The Mission stands ready to provide the PPP Unit and individual contracting entities executing PPP projects with screening, analysis, and PPP contract management tools to be used to support project development and contract execution under ongoing PPP programs.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on cooperation, in particular, in the presentation of a PPP contract management tool and how to use it for the implementation of PPP in the field of district heating and in small projects, such as parking lots, service areas and others.
