Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 May this year, a meeting was held for acting Khokim of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov with representatives of Standard Chartered Bank UK, headed by CEO Saif Malik.

Welcoming the guests, Shavkat Umurzakov expressed hope that the first visit to Tashkent would leave only positive impressions on them.

Saif Malik thanked for the organized meeting and said: Standard Chartered Bank UK is one of the largest international banks headquartered in London, which is involved in financing major infrastructure projects around the world, including in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The Bank is interested in cooperation with the city administration and participation in the implementation of large projects for the organization of green areas, the construction of roads and bridges, public transport networks, etc. Saif Malik expressed interest in ongoing and planned projects in Tashkent, and also announced the possibility of the Bank’s participation in their implementation .

Shavkat Umurzakov said that thanks to the initiatives and efforts of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a favorable investment climate has been created in the country, which serves equally the interests of both investors and our state.

After that, the guests were given detailed information about the projects in Tashkent, including the new district of Yangi Toshkent, which will later become the new administrative center of the capital.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue and appoint responsible persons from both sides.
