Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis with international evaluators of the main independent office for evaluation of the United Nations Development Program.

The meeting took place as part of the evaluation of the third country program for Uzbekistan, conducted by the UNDP Independent Evaluation Office. For information, the independent evaluation of the country program consists of assessing the overall activities, results and contribution to the development of the current UNDP program for 2021-2025.

During the meeting, the relevance and effectiveness of UNDP programs, the most visible results of cooperation with UNDP and, in general, jointly achieved results were discussed.

It was noted that, together with UNDP and other UN agencies, over the past 7 years, laws on gender equality and the protection of women from oppression and violence, as well as the Strategy for achieving gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, have been developed.

It was especially emphasized that the experience of Uzbekistan in ensuring gender equality, empowering women in all areas, and supporting them is being studied by many countries and is of interest.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to closely cooperate in the development of future programs and their implementation.
