Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade with the Director General of the EDCF Fund of the Eximbank of Korea Hwa Jun So.

During the negotiations, the progress of implementation of joint socially significant projects in the field of healthcare and pharmaceuticals worth more than US$500 million, supported by the Fund, was discussed. Among them are the projects for the construction of the National Cancer Center and the Multidisciplinary Medical Clinic for Adults and the creation of a pharmaceutical university on the territory of the Tashkent Pharma Park cluster (stage 1).

At the same time, the issue of accelerating the signing of the Protocol of Intentions for the implementation of the projects “Creation of a Medical University” and “Creation of research and educational components of the innovative scientific and production pharmaceutical cluster “Tashkent Pharma Park” (stage 2) was considered separately.

The parties also discussed the possibility of simplifying the procedures preceding the signing of loan agreements, and identified new promising areas of cooperation, including the development of regional road and rail communications and the digitalization of the healthcare sector.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue active interaction with the aim of high-quality and timely implementation of the discussed initiatives, as well as new projects planned for implementation in 2023-2024.
