Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 8 October 2024, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, met with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Uzbekistan, Toivo Klaar.

During the meeting, participants discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as the efforts of the international community, particularly those of Uzbekistan and the EU, to expand cooperation in this area.

The parties emphasized the importance of continuing regular bilateral contacts to coordinate actions regarding Afghanistan.

The Head of the EU Delegation positively assessed Uzbekistan’s efforts to form a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan, establish long-term peace and stability in the country, and provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
