Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan organized an online meeting on the implementation of the project "Implementation of financial education in educational institutions".

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the Ministry of Public Education, the Tax Committee, the Insurance Market Development Agency, the Research Center for Economic Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the teaching staff from a number of higher educational institutions.

The presentation of the Department for Improving Financial Literacy and Retraining of Banking Specialists of the Central Bank on the upcoming work in the direction of introducing financial literacy in educational institutions emphasized the importance of the project, the current state of financial education in the country’s education system, foreign experience, as well as possible mechanisms and timing of the project.

At the meeting, various proposals and comments were made about effective mechanisms for introducing financial literacy into educational programs, the formation of basic concepts from elementary school. The objectives and next steps for the implementation of the project were also identified among the stakeholders.
