Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkish investors plan to build a jewelry factory in Ferghana region of Uzbekistan.

Khokim of Ferghana region Khayrullo Bozorov held a meeting with local businessman Ulugbek Abdurakhimov and his Turkish partners Ali Uyanik and Cezmi Sen.

The meeting participants discussed the project of a jewelry factory that is planned to be created in Ferghana.

Within two years, the plant will create more than 300 permanent jobs. The total cost of the project is expected to be US$10 million.

The company will produce jewelry from gold and silver. A research department and a vocational training center will also be created at the plant.

In addition to the domestic market, it is planned to export manufactured products to the markets of Europe and the USA.

During the meeting, it was decided to launch production in two months on a lease basis in one of the empty and idle buildings in the region.

Pending the arrival of the large equipment ordered from Italy, a new factory building will be built in the small industrial zone in Ecoshahar.
