Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A 22-year-old detainee was found dead on 1 December  2023 in the pre-trial detention center of the Chirchik Internal Affairs Directorate. This was reported by the press service of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of Tashkent region.

The incident occurred at approximately 02:30. The body of the detainee was found in a noose made of a blanket tied to the bars of the cell window.

The detainee was accused of theft and fraud. Since the man already had a criminal record, he was placed in custody in a pre-trial detention center.

According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the man’s death was caused by mechanical asphyxia.
