A delegation of Uzbekistan will take part in the VIII international film festival BAIQONYR

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 7 to 11 September, Almaty will host the 2nd Forum of film scholars and film critics of the CIS countries as part of the VIII BAIQONYR International Film Festival.

More than 20 leading experts from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia and Estonia will take part in its work. The objective of the forum is to organize a professional dialogue and unite the efforts of film critics and film critics from the CIS countries to identify and resolve topical issues in the field of the film industry and media education, as well as create conditions for enhancing the creative potential of young filmmakers.

Within the framework of the Forum, it is planned to hold solemn ceremonies (opening and closing), film screenings, organization of discussions, lectures, seminars and master classes. The central panel discussion of the forum is "Modern trends and challenges in film studies: research, analysis and perspectives". Film critics and film experts will express their opinion about the films presented at the Festival. They have to choose the best, according to their version, tape.

The organizers of the BAIQONYR festival consider the forum of specialists to be a significant component of the event. Leading Kazakh film critic, Doctor of Arts, President of the Association of Film Critics of Kazakhstan Gulnara ABIKEYEVA notes the demand for such a format of communication between professionals throughout the Commonwealth: “If last year five people came to the forum, this time two dozen film critics and film critics from different countries will come to Almaty . What a pool of well-known, strong, film-writing professionals! Today it is the CIS, next year the format will probably be wider: Europe, Asia, America. And what I like about the Baiqonyr festival is that it moves from small to big and does not limit the horizons of its development.”

The general festival program is extremely rich. It includes film screenings, a separate animation film festival, master classes, workshops, lectures by famous directors and actors, as well as round tables on topical issues of the film industry.

The festival will be held with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states.
