A delegation of Uzbekistan to take part in the V meeting of ministers for tourism of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Aziz Abduhakimov, will take part in the V meeting of Ministers for Tourism of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS), which will be held on 23 June 2020 in video conference mode.

It should be noted that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 14 September 2019 signed the Law “On Ratification of the Nakhichevan Agreement on the Establishment of a Cooperation Council for Turkic-Speaking States”, and on 15 October 2019. in the city of Baku, the Republic of Uzbekistan, represented by the Head of State, took part in the CCTS summit as a full member.

Today, the Republic of Uzbekistan takes an active part in all structures of the Council and will be represented for the first time at this ministerial meeting by the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development, Aziz Abdukhakimov.

The upcoming event will also be attended by Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey M. Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan A. Raimkulova, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan A. Jamankulov and other heads of tourism administrations of the countries of the CCTS.

The participants will discuss the current state of the tourism industry in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the experience of countries in mitigating the socio-economic consequences of the coronavirus for the tourism sector, measures to restore tourist exchange between the member states of the Turkic Council, projects and initiatives to promote tourist destinations of states - members of the Council.

Also, the event will consider the inclusion of cities and destinations of Uzbekistan in the project of the joint tourism product "Modern Silk Road" and the next VI meeting of Ministers for Tourism of the CCTS in Uzbekistan in 2021.
