A delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in the meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the Commonwealth States in Bishkek

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13–14 June 2023, a meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS member states was held in Bishkek. 

The event was held using video conferencing, it was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the basic organizations of the Commonwealth countries for working with youth and developing youth entrepreneurship, the International Delphic Committee and Executive Committee of the CIS. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The participants of the meeting considered 12 issues, including the results of the implementation of the Action Plan for 2021–2022 on the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the States Members of the Commonwealth for 2021–2030 and the progress in implementing the Action Plan for 2023–2024, the draft Action Plan for holding in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2024, the Year of the Volunteer Movement. Council members spoke in favor of the expediency of working out in the prescribed manner the issue of determining the basic organization of the CIS member states for the development of youth volunteer (volunteer) movement.

The participants of the meeting got acquainted with the implementation of the state youth policy in Kyrgyzstan and noted, among other things, the country’s positive experience in conducting a national study "Index of well-being in the development of youth in the Kyrgyz Republic".

During the exchange of views, Council members identified a hot topic for analysis and discussion in 2024. The subject of discussion will be the migration of young people in the Commonwealth and the organization in the CIS member states of work to support young migrants.

The meeting also discussed in detail the preparation of events for the international stage of the International Youth Project of the CIS Member States "100 Ideas for the CIS" and the organization of two stages of the eSports tournament "Youth Cybersport Games of the Commonwealth", as well as the next Forum of Youth Public Organizations of the CIS Member States.

Representatives of the Russian Federation told the meeting participants about the implementation of the Youth and Student Tourism Program in the CIS, about the results of the II Youth Forum of the CIS and the EAEU. It was also announced that the World Youth Festival, the #MYVTOGETHER International Award, the International University Sports Festival and the Congress of Young Scientists were to be held.

At the meeting of the Council, the decision of the Council of the Heads of Government of the CIS from 8 June 2023 on declaring Tashkent (Uzbekistan) the Youth Capital of the CIS in 2024, Gabala (Azerbaijan) in 2025, and Kapan (Armenia) in 2026 was considered and put into work. After reviewing the presentation of the city of Tashkent, the members of the Council also approved the approaches of the Uzbek side to the formation of a draft Action Plan for the implementation of the project "Youth Capital of the CIS" in Tashkent in 2024.

The Council approved in general the Program for the Development of Youth Entrepreneurship in the CIS countries, developed and implemented by the federal state budgetary institution "Center for Assistance to Young Professionals", the base organization of the CIS member states for the development of youth entrepreneurship.

The next meeting of the Council will be held in October 2023 in Minsk together with the final of the International Project of the CIS Member States “100 Ideas for the CIS”.
