Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 October 2022, a seminar on Council of Europe conventions for representatives of state bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan started in the city of Strasbourg (France).

The seminar is attended by a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the Deputy Minister of Justice A. Mukhammadiev.

The three-day seminar is organized by the Council of Europe jointly with the European Union within the framework of the Rule of Law Program for the countries of Central Asia.

The purpose of the event is to study the system of CE treaties and the specifics of joining the conventions, as well as to discuss bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Rule of Law Program.

During the event, it is planned to hear information reports from representatives of the Council of Europe, speeches by members of the delegation of Uzbekistan with presentations on measures taken in the country to combat corruption, human trafficking and reform of the judicial and legal system, organization of bilateral meetings with representatives of the Council of Europe, discussion of issues on the implementation of international obligations of Uzbekistan in areas of human rights protection, determination of further priority areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the structures of the Council of Europe.
