A delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in a meeting of specialists from national statistical services of the CIS countries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 May 2024, an opening of the Meeting of specialists from national statistical services of the CIS countries “Development of labor statistics taking into account the decisions of the 21st International Conference of Labor Statisticians” took place. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting is also attended by employees of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the CIS Executive Committee, heads and authorized representatives of national statistical services of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS, the International labor organization, UNECE Statistics Division, World Bank, UNFPA, UNICEF and the expert community.

Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Trefilov Denis Anatolyevich took part in the event and delivered a welcoming speech.

In his speech, Denis Trefilov noted that in modern conditions, issues related to the state of the labor market and employment of the population, labor migration, are of particular importance.

According to him, labor statistics is one of the key areas for the development of statistics both in the Commonwealth and in the world as a whole. Participation in the meeting will allow the CIS countries to develop agreed positions on the most pressing and important issues on the agenda of this area of cooperation.

Carrying out such events will contribute to the development of labor statistics, the creation of conditions for the expansion of national labor markets and the formation of a single labor market of the Commonwealth, and accordingly the growth of economies, improving the standard of living and well-being of the population of the Commonwealth countries.

The meeting program includes 5 sessions devoted to questions about the current state and prospects for the development of labor statistics, the practice of the CIS countries in implementing the standards of the 19th and 20th international conferences of labor statisticians; about the labor market and its reflection in population censuses and regional monitoring (CIS and Eurasian Economic Union), as well as the use of modern technologies when working with statistical data.
