Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15-17 January, a delegation of Uzbekistan, consisting of representatives of the Oliy Majlis, held meetings with representatives of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France.

During the visit, a round table was organized with the participation of members of the European Parliament on the topic “A new look at the prospects for deepening dialogue and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Parliament.”

The event was attended by about 30 members of the European Parliament, as well as political advisers from various parliamentary factions.

The round table participants were informed about the main directions of the “New Uzbekistan 2030” Strategy, the essence and significance of the updated Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. There was also an exchange of views on priority areas of multifaceted mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Union.

Members of the European Parliament noted that they are well aware of the changes and updates that have occurred in Uzbekistan in recent years, and support the ongoing democratic reforms.

Also, as part of the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to Strasbourg, a presentation of the book by the President of the diplomatic corps in Geneva, Robert Blum from Switzerland, “Uzbekistan - the pearl of Central Asia” took place.
