Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister for Poverty Reduction and Employment of Uzbekistan Bekhzod Musayev held talks with the President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Mr. Chang Won Sam in Seoul.

At the meeting, current projects implemented by the agency in Uzbekistan were discussed. For example, 4 KOICA Vocational Training Centers in Tashkent, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz and Ferghana provided employment to 13 thousand unemployed citizens, teaching them modern professions. KOICA has allocated a grant of US$9 million to create a new center in Urgench.

The KOICA President expressed satisfaction with the start of construction of the National Technical Assessment and Training Center in Tashkent at a cost of US$5.5 million this year.

The parties agreed to expand the number of similar projects, create new vocational training centers in the regions and develop joint centers based on Korean technologies in other educational institutions under the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment, making them more modern and innovative. Agreements were also reached to upgrade training equipment.
