Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 15 to 20 January, a delegation of the Uzbekcosmos agency under the leadership of Director Shukhrat Kadirov made a working visit to the People’s Republic of China and held a number of meetings with the leadership of leading Chinese companies specializing in the field of space systems and technologies.

The Uzbek delegation held fruitful negotiations with representatives of the China National Space Administration (CNSA), the China Great Wall Industrial Corporation (CGWIC) and the China Electronic Technology Group (CETC), as well as the Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS).

During the meetings, the prospects for bilateral cooperation in such areas as education and training, the development of geographic information systems, and the creation of ground and space infrastructure were discussed in detail. In the field of personnel training, plans and initiatives for in-depth interaction between educational institutions, including opportunities for student and scientific exchanges, were considered. In the field of space systems and technologies - prospects for the creation and development of geographic information systems, satellite communication systems and remote sensing of the earth and other mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.

As a result of negotiations with the Institute of Information Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a memorandum of understanding was signed, opening up new opportunities for cooperation in the field of education and training, as well as short-term educational programs in the field of remote sensing of the earth.
