Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7-8 September, a delegation of the National Social Protection Agency took part in the conference “DOST 2023: a single platform for providing flexible, innovative and sustainable services.” During the visit, the delegation of the National Social Protection Agency held a number of meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Azerbaijan and subordinate organizations of the Ministry. This was reported by the Information Service of the National Social Protection Agency.

This visit was a logical continuation of the agreements reached during the visit of the leadership of the National Social Protection Agency to the Republic of Azerbaijan in June 2023 in order to study best practices in the field of social protection.

Representatives of the delegation led by Deputy Director of the Agency Jamshid Abruyev visited the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Azerbaijan and exchanged views on issues of supporting persons with disabilities and those in difficult life situations, promoting their socialization in society, organizing a social insurance system, making social payments, increasing coverage and targeting through digitalization in the industry.

During the meeting, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Sahil Boboev noted the historical friendly and fraternal ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, and noted that through the joint efforts of the presidents of the two countries, these relations were raised to a strategic level. He also especially noted that secondary school No. 1 named after Mirzo Ulugbek, built by Uzbekistan in the city of Fizuli on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is of great importance in the public life of the residents of this area.

As part of the visit to Azerbaijan, the delegation of the National Social Protection Agency visited the DOST Center for Digital Innovation, where they got acquainted with the effective activities of the center and programs for providing flexible and innovative services to the population.

“We are always ready for active cooperation in this direction with Uzbekistan, which is interested in studying and applying our country’s experience in introducing innovative solutions in the social sphere,” added Kanan Akperov, head of the DOST Digital Innovation Center.

In turn, Deputy Director of the National Social Protection Agency Jamshid Abruev noted the importance of constantly expanding ties between the two countries and consistent exchange of experience in the process of social reforms.

At the end of the meeting, the parties outlined issues for further interaction.

Representatives of the delegation of the National Social Protection Agency also visited the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, the parties familiarized themselves in detail with the activities of the fund and noted the important role of funds in the implementation of state social policy, issues of improving the well-being of the country’s population, as well as issues such as social insurance, social security and social payments were discussed.

The parties also discussed the implementation of innovative solutions and electronic technologies in the field of social protection, and exchanged views on the development of cooperation.
