A delegation of IT girls of Uzbekistan takes part in the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2019

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Second European Conference of Women was held in Warsaw, in which representatives of Uzbekistan attended, Dunyo reports.

The conference was aimed at demonstrating the potential of women in the field of information and communication technologies and large engineering. The event was accompanied by discussions about the technological and social future of the world and the contribution of women to the development of these areas.

At its meetings, more than 150 reports on IT competencies in the labor market were heard, meetings of European and Asian women rectors (EWORA) and side events for participants organized by the largest technology companies in the world were held.

For the first time, representatives of Central Asia were officially invited to the conference, including 15 women from Uzbekistan - students, graduate students and young women scientists working in the IT field. For three days they worked in workshops, participated in discussions, meetings and presentations from such well-known international companies as Google, ABB, Facebook, Ericsson, McKinsey & Company, Tomtom, Intel, 3M, Dell and others. In addition, Uzbek IT specialists took part in seminars on management issues, business development, the banking system and women's rights.

The international conference had a clear gender focus, provided an opportunity for students, post-graduate students and young researchers of Uzbekistan to discuss educational and research technologies of the future, establish contacts, show potential for professional growth and exchange experience in the IT field and, ultimately, join the European integration processes in science .

The discussion panels of the Warsaw Summit covered a wide range of pressing problems in technology, the future of technology and the consequences of their further development. The issues of women's contribution to this sphere, vital for humanity, and their successful career development, were also discussed.

The head of the Perspektywy Foundation A. Shivinsky emphasized that the results of the conference are of great importance for Uzbekistan in the professional, political and human dimensions.

“This is important in terms of sharing scientific ideas and practical results of the discussed areas of modern science, identifying common problems and development trends, ensuring the interpenetration of methodologies and technologies. Participation in the conference, leading specialists of Uzbekistan who are not inferior in their knowledge to representatives of European countries, allows a wide circle of young scientists to get acquainted with the latest achievements in the field of ICT. Uzbek specialists are actively mastering Internet technologies, expanding the horizons of their knowledge, skills and working opportunities in the global network,” he said.
