Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A criminal case was opened against a former judge in Tashkent. This was reported by the press service of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan.

A judge of the Sergeli District Court for Criminal Cases, during his work in this position, committed crimes such as inaction, falsification of evidence, unfair punishment and extortion during the consideration of a criminal case against a construction company, company management and other persons.

The press service of the State Security Service notes that the suspect worked as a judge until 5 December 2023.

Based on the collected materials, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan opened a criminal case against the former judge of the Sergeli District Court under Articles 165, 208, 230-1 and 231 of the Criminal Code.

Currently, the preliminary investigation into this criminal case is being conducted by the Investigation Department of the State Security Service.
