Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan announced the initiation of a criminal case against the driver who ran over a traffic police inspector with a Damas car.

The case was initiated under Article 266 of the Criminal Code, which concerns violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles.

Currently, law enforcement agencies are conducting investigative actions.

The incident occurred in the Kitab district of the Kashkadarya region, where a traffic police inspector tried to stop a Damas car to check documents.

The driver ignored the signal and ran into a traffic police officer.

Local residents were able to extract the inspector from under the car. The inspector was hospitalized with bruises and penetrating wounds on his head, face, arms and legs.
