Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A consortium of French companies will develop a project on improvement of the tourist zone at the Charvak reservoir.
A consortium of French tourism companies - Orex Loisirs, Compagnie des Alpes, Geode, Egis, Epode and Patriarch - signed an agreement with the khokimiyat of Tashkent region.
According to the French Embassy in Uzbekistan, this agreement was signed after a grant was provided by France to develop a feasibility study for the improvement of the tourist zone in Bostanlak.
The consortium has already begun to conduct preliminary studies of this area.
They should identify recreation centers for the development of winter and summer sports resorts, water parks, ecotourism or mountaineering on and around Charvak Lake. In order to avoid contamination of the lake and the destruction of the landscape, the consortium will propose various models of urban planning (construction rules, conditions for connecting to sewage, land use) and calculate the level and cost of infrastructure necessary for the influx of tourists, which will ensure profitability without harming the environment (sewage, automobile and iron) roads, energy, etc.).
The French Development Agency, for its part, put forward proposals for the integrated management of the Charvak dam, which would optimize the use of water for tourism and agriculture, as well as the production of electricity.
