Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A grand concert was held in Tashkent to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The celebratory event attracted a large audience who came to congratulate the Chinese people and enjoy the cultural program organized with the support of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture.

Wang Jiwei, Advisor of the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, congratulated the attendees on the occasion and remarked on China’s challenging but successful journey over the past 75 years, transforming the country into both a wealthier and stronger nation. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of fostering cultural cooperation between China and Uzbekistan.

“Culture serves as a bridge between peoples. Earlier this year, the Presidents of China and the esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev jointly announced the elevation of bilateral relations to a new level—an all-weather comprehensive partnership in a new era—and the creation of a China-Uzbekistan community of shared destiny from a higher starting point. I am confident that today’s event promotes mutual understanding and brings our peoples closer,” said Wang Jiwei.

Shokhrukh Aliboev, Advisor to the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, congratulated the guests and participants on the anniversary and expressed gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to showcase Chinese art in Uzbekistan. "Today, the people of our republic witness yet another celebration of Chinese culture, which has become an important event in the cultural life of Uzbekistan," he added.

The gala concert featured creative performances from both Uzbek and Chinese groups, including the "Tuman" ensemble of the State Grand Theatre, the choir of the State Conservatory, the youth team of the Wushu Federation of Uzbekistan, and other performers. The program included traditional dances as well as modern performances, offering a rich experience of the two cultures’ festive harmony.

The collaboration of artists symbolized the strong cultural and humanitarian ties between China and Uzbekistan, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to deepening friendship and cooperation.

Wang Jiwei concluded the evening by expressing his gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event and hoped for continued cultural exchanges that would contribute to building a shared future between China and Uzbekistan.

The gala concert, held in an atmosphere of friendship and understanding, was another step towards strengthening cultural ties between the two countries. The participants and audience were assured that such events would continue, further enhancing connections between the peoples.

The founding of the People’s Republic of China is a major national holiday in China, celebrated annually on October 1. The establishment of the PRC was proclaimed by Mao Zedong on October 1, 1949, at a rally in Tiananmen Square, Beijing.
