Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – No proposals were made to confiscate a vehicle in favor of the state for drunk driving. This was reported by the Road Safety Service.

The service notes that messages on social networks that “vehicles of persons driving while intoxicated are confiscated in favor of the state” are not true.

A legal act has been developed to tighten penalties for drunk driving. The draft also proposes to establish criminal liability for repeated commission of this violation.

“We would like to inform you that the draft document does not propose “confiscation of the vehicle in favor of the state” as a punishment for drunk driving,” notes the Road Safety Service.
