A call center to be created in Uzbekistan to help migrant workers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Presidential Decree “On additional measures to improve the processes of labor migration and support for persons carrying out temporary labor activities abroad”, from 1 June 2024, the amount of the consular fee for online request of documents will be equal to the amount of the state fee for issuing duplicate certificates of registration of acts of civil status.

Until 1 September 2024, a 24-hour call center will be organized to provide assistance to migrant workers.

It will be possible to make free calls to the Call Center number for subscribers calling from abroad.

By 1 July 2025 the following will be created:

- A unified interdepartmental and fully integrated electronic database that provides the opportunity to keep accurate records of persons traveling outside of Uzbekistan, as well as arriving in the territory of our country;

- A mobile application for migrant workers, providing them with the opportunity to post information about the country of their stay and the availability of available jobs, online communication with compatriots and making money transfers, connections with organizations providing assistance to citizens who find themselves in difficult life situations.

From 1 July 2024, private employment agencies will be allowed to charge fees for the provision of employment services outside Uzbekistan from persons who have expressed a desire to work abroad.
