A bank from Uzbekistan tightens requirements for servicing accounts of Russians

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ipak Yuli Bank from Uzbekistan has tightened requirements for servicing accounts of Russian clients, Russia’s RBC reported.

The bank sent notifications to customers from Russia, asking them to provide a personal identification number for an individual (PINFL) to continue using bank cards without restrictions.

A request to receive a PINFL requires temporary registration in Uzbekistan. The bank claims that this requirement was introduced in accordance with the instructions of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan from 8 February 2023.

It was explained to clients that PINFL is necessary to open deposit accounts according to the new rules. Without providing PINFL, clients will not be able to make transfers between cards and some other transactions.

Obtaining PINFL is possible through the passport office or the Public Services Center in Uzbekistan with the provision of a temporary registration document.
