Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Tashkent region, a 29-year-old pregnant woman died as a result of anaphylactic shock after taking an antibiotic.

The incident occurred on 13 April in the medical association of Bostanlyk district. The woman went to the maternity ward complaining of feeling unwell. Even though there was a note about allergies in her medical record, she was prescribed an antibiotic. After receiving the injection, her condition worsened and she was transferred to intensive care, where she fell into a coma.

The woman, who was 28 weeks pregnant, had this first pregnancy condition. Despite medical attention, she and her unborn child could not be saved and died.

It is noted that the doctor who prescribed the antibiotic injection has been temporarily suspended from duty.

A pre-investigation investigation into this case is underway, and a forensic medical examination is being carried out. Tashkent regional prosecutor’s office took control of the investigation into the incident.
