Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An international conference titled “International Road Transport: Ensuring Sustainability and Prosperity” was held in Tashkent, under the theme "The Way Forward: 75 Years of TIR."

The event was organized by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan in collaboration with the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and the Association of International Road Carriers of Uzbekistan (AIRCUZ). It gathered industry experts from various countries, as well as representatives from international organizations and financial institutions.

The conference focused on current issues related to the development of international road freight transport. Participants discussed ways to enhance the efficiency of logistics systems, simplify trade procedures, reduce costs, and ensure sustainable economic growth.

Special attention was given to the 75th anniversary of the TIR system, one of the most successful public-private partnerships under the UN, which plays a key role in simplifying transit transport and international trade. The TIR system also contributes to reducing carbon emissions by improving the efficiency of freight transport.

During panel discussions, participants explored issues related to facilitating road transport worldwide, harnessing the potential of digitalization in the industry, and developed several proposals for its further development.
