Uzavtosanoat to begin serial production of compact crossovers in Asaka

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzavtosanoat reached an agreement on organization of serial production of new compact crossover Chevrolet Tracker and modernized Chevrolet Cobalt, as well as motorcycles and scooters with the South Korean partners.
The agreement was reached within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea.
The press center on coverage of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea said that GM Uzbekistan will organize the serial production of a compact crossovers Chevrolet Tracker of new generation. The vehicle will be equipped with 1.8 liter engine with horse power of 140 hp. It will consume 8.1 liters of petroleum per 100 km. Production will be carried out on a full technological cycle (stamping, welding, painting, assembly). Localization level will make up over 50%.
Within the agreement, GM Uzbekistan will launch production of renewed Chevrolet Cobalt. Launch of production of new models will increase production and export potential of GM Alliance Uzbekistan. The plant will launch mass production of these vehicles in 2019.
Uzavtosanoat and DK Group also reached agreement on organizing production of motorcycles and tricycles cargo scooters.
The agreement envisages production of various types of motorcycles and three-wheeled cargo scooters in Uzbekistan. The motorcycles and scooters will be presented in an affordable price segment.
During visit to South Korea, Uzavtosanoat held meetings with companies of the automobile industry of the Republic of Korea, following which 7 agreements were signed for a total of US$189.9 million, as well as contracts in the trade and economic sphere for US$614 million.
