ADB can provide US$100m to construction of second solar power station in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan is planning to attract resources of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for construction of the second solar power station in Surkhandarya region.
The Government plans to attract US$100 million of ADB loan to construct the second solar power station in Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region.
The capacity of the second solar power plant will be 100 MW. It is expected that the station will be able to produce 177 GW-h of electricity a year. The ADB can provide the loan in the second half of the 2017 year.
The ADB provided the loan for US$110 million to Uzbekistan for construction of the solar power station in Samarkand region. The capacity of the first solar power station in Central Asia will be 100 MW.
In December 2016, Zhuhai Singyes Green Building Technology Co., Ltd (China) won a tender for the construction of solar power station in the Samarkand region. The station will produce up to 200 million KWH of electricity a year.
