The net profit of Uzbektelecom, Uzbek national fixed-line operator, increased from from 4.2 billion soums in nine months of 2006 to 8.7 billion soum in January-September 2007, the company said on Tuesday.
Vimpelcom intends to conduct the largest transaction in the history of the Russia telecommunications sector: the mobile operator has launched an offer to buy the shares of the fixed-line operator Golden Telecom.
