Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minimum consumer spending in Uzbekistan increased by 9.3%, reaching 621,000 soums per month.

The Statistics Agency under the President of Uzbekistan announced new values for the minimum consumer expenditures (MCE) of the population.

This indicator plays a key role in determining the level of poverty in the country.

Minimum consumer expenses in Uzbekistan now amount to 621,000 soums per month or 20,700 soums per day, which is 9.3% more than the previous values of 568,000 soums per month or 18,900 soums per day .

When calculating this indicator, the official inflation rate was taken into account, which in 2023 amounted to 8.77%. At the same time, on average, food products in the country have risen in price by 9.7%.
