The total income of the population of Uzbekistan amounted to 728.8 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth rate of the total income of the population of Uzbekistan in 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, in real terms made up 4.6% and reached 728.8 trillion soum, according to the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan.

According to the Agency, the nominal growth rate of total income was 15% in 2023 compared to 2022.

For January-December 2023, the average per capita nominal total income of the population was higher than the national average in Tashkent - 44.43 million soums, Navoi - 31.44 million soums, Bukhara - 23.48 million soums, Tashkent - 20.73 million soums and Khorezm – 20.07 million soums regions.

For January-December 2023, the lowest per capita nominal total income of the population was recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 14.57 million soums, Namangan - 15.07 million soums and Ferghana - 15.71 million soums regions.

The real growth rate of total per capita income for January-December 2023 was 2.4%, the same figure for January-December 2022 was recorded at 7.3%.

The highest rate of real growth rates of per capita total income was recorded in Tashkent (7.6%), Navoi (5.7%), Syrdarya and Andijan (4.4%), and Jizzakh (4.3%) regions.

A decrease in the real growth rate of per capita total income was noted in Khorezm (-6.4%), Surkhandarya (-0.8%), Samarkand (-0.5%), Bukhara (-0.4%) and Namangan (-0 .3%) areas.

The significant growth in the total income of the population is mainly facilitated by significant changes in income from self-employment, which accounts for 34.3%, income of employees - 29.7%, and income from transfers - 26.7%.

In the total income of the regions, the share of income received from labor activity (income of hired workers and income from self-employment) above the national average was observed in Navoi (79.5%), Tashkent (75.2%), Jizzakh (75.0%), Syrdarya (67.3%) and Bukhara (67.2%) regions. On the contrary, the lowest indicators were noted in Samarkand, Ferghana, and Khorezm regions.

Income from labor activity (income of hired workers and income from self-employment) has a significant weight in the structure of the total income of the population.

According to preliminary data, for January-December 2023, the share of income from labor activity in the structure of total income of the population amounted to 64.0%.

The nominal growth rate of income in relation to the corresponding period in 2022 reached 19.8% and contributed to an increase in the nominal volume of total income of about 12.1%.

The growth rate of income of hired workers in the past period reached 19.9%, which ensured an increase in nominal income of the population by 5.7%.

The highest nominal growth rates of income of hired workers were noted in Tashkent (24.3%), Andijan (21.6%) and Jizzakh (20.9%) regions.

The growth rate of income in the past period reached 19.7%, which ensured an increase in nominal income of the population by 6.5%.

In January-December 2023, the share of total income from self-employment among the population was 34.3%.

In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income received from self-employment was observed in Jizzakh (51.4%), Bukhara (44.0%), Kashkadarya (42.8%), Surkhandarya (42.3%) and Tashkent (42). .2%) areas. On the contrary, in the city of Tashkent and the Republic of Karakalpakstan it was below the national average level.

For a 1% increase in self-employment income, total total income increases by 0.34%.

The largest share of income from self-employment was noted in Samarkand (11.0%), Tashkent (10.6%), Andijan (9.8%) and Kashkadarya (9.7%) regions. The regions with the lowest share are Syrdarya region (2.3%), Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.7%), Tashkent city (4.8%) and Navoi region (5.0%).

According to preliminary data, in January-December 2023, the total income from property of the population amounted to 20.4 trillion soums. During the same period, the share of total property income was 2.8%. The influence of property income on changes in the total volume of aggregate income of the population is insignificant, on the order of 1.0%.

Two-thirds of the volume of property income received in January-December 2023 fell to the share of Tashkent city - 72.1%. The next region with significant weight is the Tashkent region (5.4%).

The nominal growth rate of property income, according to preliminary data for January-December 2023 compared to the corresponding period in 2022, amounted to 43.7%. The highest growth rates were noted in Navoi region -83.6% and Tashkent city -53.2%.

Based on the (annual) inflation rate of 2023, the cost of minimum consumer spending for 2024 amounted to 621 thousand soums per person per month.

Of no small importance in the structure of the population’s income are income from transfers, consisting of social and other current transfers

The nominal growth rate of income from transfers, according to preliminary data for January-December 2023 compared to the corresponding period in 2022, amounted to 103.0%. The share of transfers in the total aggregate income of the population for the specified period amounted to 26.7%

According to preliminary data for January-December 2023, 39.8% of income from transfers came from income from social transfers, 60.2% of income from other current transfers.

The share of pensions in the total volume of social transfers for January-December 2023 was 74.3%, benefits – 23.9%, scholarships – 1.8%.

Compared to the corresponding period in 2022, the growth rate of pensions during the period under review was 19.4%, benefits – 5.1% and scholarships – 17.8%.

In January-December 2023, 18.5 trillion soums of benefits and material assistance were allocated for social support of the population. Of these, the extra-budgetary Pension Fund financed 33.7% of insurance benefits, 66.3% was allocated from the republican and local budgets.

The nominal growth rate of remittances from abroad, which are part of other current transfers, for January-December 2023 amounted to 96.1%, and their share, compared to the same period in 2022, in the total income of the population decreased by -3. 2 p.p.

According to preliminary data for January-December 2023, of the total total income of the population, the share of income received from small businesses amounted to 57.0%.

Thus, in the structure of the total income of the regions, it differs: the highest share is noted in the Jizzakh region - 67.3%. The smallest share of income received from small businesses was recorded in the city of Tashkent - 46.1%, Navoi region - 50.4%, and also in the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 51.1%.
