Control in the field of urban planning has been strengthened

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On introducing amendments and additions, as well as invalidating some decisions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan aimed at improving permitting procedures in the field of urban planning” was adopted.

Licenses to carry out high-altitude repair, construction and installation work using industrial mountaineering methods can also be obtained by non-resident legal entities that have a permanent establishment on the territory of the republic. The period for consideration of an application for a license is reduced from 15 to 10 days.

Requirements for obtaining certain licenses in the field of urban planning are being strengthened. For example, to obtain a license to design bridges and tunnels, an organization must have at least 15 specialists on staff, of whom work as their main place of work:

directors;

3 chief project engineers with higher education in the field and at least 5 years of experience in design;

chief architect;

2 technologists;

2 designers.

A license can also be obtained by foreign (having a permanent establishment) legal entities. The review period is reduced from 30 to 20 days.

The requirements for obtaining a license are also being strengthened:

for the construction and repair of bridges and tunnels;

for the design, construction and operation of high-risk facilities and potentially hazardous industries.

The new licensing requirements come into force on 1 March 2024; before this date, organizations with appropriate licenses must bring their activities into compliance with the new requirements.

From 1 April 2024, the issuance of permits for the operation of buildings and structures built without prior registration with the Inspectorate for Control in the Field of Construction and Housing and Communal Services will cease.
