President of Uzbekistan announced the dismissal of a number of heads of departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor’s office

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at an expanded meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ferghana on Friday announced the dismissal of a number of heads of internal affairs units and prosecutors due to poor performance in curbing crime.

In particular, the heads of the departments of internal affairs of Sergeli, Yangikhayot and Shaykhantakhur districts of Tashkent, Gijduvan and Kagan districts of Bukhara region, Tuprakkala district of Khorezm and Takhtakupyr district of Karakalpakstan, Tamdy district of Navoi region, Yakkabag district of Kashkadarya, Altynsay district of Surkhandarya, Zafarabad district of Jizzakh region, Bayaut and Guli Stansky districts Syrdarya region, Mingbulak region of Namangan region and Altinkul region of Andijan region were fired.

The head of Uzbekistan also announced the dismissal of the prosecutors of Andijan district of Andijan region, Bandikhan district of Surkhandarya region, Buvaida district of Ferghana region, Narpay district of Samarkand region and Yunusabad district of Tashkent.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also issued reprimands to First Deputy Prosecutor General Bahriddin Valiyev, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shavkat Rakhmonov, and Deputy Internal Affairs Minister Bekmurod Abdullayev, who is responsible for organizing the work of prevention inspectors in mahallas. They were given a three-month probationary period.

The President said that all prosecutors and first deputy chiefs of the Regional Department of Internal Affairs would be fired at the end of the year, "if they do not draw the appropriate conclusions for themselves."

On behalf of the President of Uzbekistan, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Najmiddin Turakhodjaev, who was responsible for the digitalization of the ministry’s system, was also relieved of his post.

According to the head of state, Najmiddin Turakhodjaev did not complete any of the tasks assigned to him.
