An exchange of views takes place on the further development of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 June this year, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Kudbiev met with the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission for Uzbekistan, Yasser Abdikh.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister of Economy and Finance Sherzod Kudbiev congratulated Yasser Abdikh on his recent appointment to a high position. He thanked for the trust and goodwill to continue cooperation in the future.

During the conversation, projects implemented by Uzbekistan jointly with the IMF, in particular, macroeconomic, fiscal and budgetary policies, were discussed.

Yasser Abdikh said: “I am very happy to come to Uzbekistan. We analyze the global economy. There are financial crises in the international arena. And in the economy of Uzbekistan, stability and economic growth are observed. At the same time, the IMF is ready to provide comprehensive assistance in the implementation of joint projects with Uzbekistan.”

In addition, an exchange of views took place with a foreign partner on the macroeconomic situation in our country, the main factors of internal and external risks, budgetary expectations and fiscal policy.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint work on budget and tax policy in Uzbekistan, as well as ensuring macroeconomic stability and reducing the role of the state in the economy.
