Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Scheduled tactical and special exercises were held at the airport of Tashkent International Airport to eliminate an emergency that occurred during an emergency landing of an aircraft.
According to legend, during the landing of the plane, on board of which there were 72 passengers, the fuel tank ignited. The airport dispatcher, having received a signal from the pilot about an emergency, informed all services. Employees of the airport and the Unified Aviation Search and Rescue Service immediately arrived at the runway.
“In total, 3 airport services and the city department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 160 people, 20 pieces of equipment and a Tu-154 training aircraft were involved in the elimination of the consequences of a simulated emergency. Medics and rescuers evacuated the wounded, provided them with first aid, firefighters put out the fire, airport employees pretended to be passengers and crew. Each has its own "role", and a certain time to practice actions in an emergency. The fire was extinguished in 5 minutes, all the victims were evacuated,” the press service of Uzbekistan Airports said.
The exercises at the airfield were held as part of the month of fire safety, held throughout the country from 15 November to 15 December 2022. The event is aimed at practical development of interdepartmental interaction between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and departments of the Tashkent airport in case of an aviation accident, as well as to improve the training of personnel in emergency response.
