Uzbekistan-Iran: new areas of cooperation discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held between representatives of the Uzcharmsanoat Association and the company of the Islamic Republic of Iran - Hamidi Plast. The sides focus on the development of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of new investment projects.

At the beginning of the meeting, the leadership of the Association provided the Iranian company with detailed information about the production potential of the leather and footwear industry of our country, investments, export indicators, conditions created for foreign investors and benefits provided.

It should be noted that Hamidi Plast launched a new project for the production of shoes in a small industrial zone in Urgut district of Samarkand region at the expense of US$400,000 of investment. The company aims to produce seasonal shoes, which are not currently produced in our country. Full production capacity is planned for 2023.

During the dialogue, the Iranian side said that it also aims to implement a new investment project for the production of EVA granules in Uzbekistan. The issue of creating a new enterprise and providing it with raw materials was discussed. In addition, the application of Hamidi Plast for membership in the Association was considered. Now the Iranian company will continue its activities as a foreign enterprise as part of the Uzcharmsanoat association.

At the end of the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the upcoming tasks for the implementation of new projects.
