Samarkand hosts the second tourism conference Discovering Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 21 October 2022, the second Discovering Uzbekistan tourism conference is being held in Samarkand on the territory of the Samarkand Silk Road tourist center, which brought together representatives of international airlines, travel agencies, hotels, as well as representatives diplomatic corps, ministries, government agencies, media and travel bloggers. 

The main organizer of the event is Uzbekistan Airports with the support of the Ministry for Tourism Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and the Samarkand Tourist Center.

The purpose of this conference is to talk about the tourism product called "Uzbekistan" and open our country to even more foreign tourists.

“Uzbekistan is a country with an amazing historical heritage, a diverse natural landscape and a convenient geographical location. This amazing land should become a point of attraction for tourists from all over the world. And we are simply obliged to open Uzbekistan, both for domestic tourists and for external ones. It is impossible to cover everything in one day. Today we will show only a small part: interesting locations, outstanding tours and one of the regions - Karakalpakstan.

The development of tourism is inextricably linked with the development of air traffic.

Our task is to show people Uzbekistan, attract tourists, open new destinations, attract new air carriers, create favorable conditions for them, thereby developing the country’s airports,” said Rano Juraeva, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports.

The conference includes a discussion of problematic issues of the tourism and aviation industry, presentations of individual regions and unusual tourist locations, the possibilities of Uzbekistan’s airports and plans to increase the number of flights, as well as a presentation of the new regional airline SilkAvia.
