Sherzod Shermatov: 5G network is being tested in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A 5G mobile communication network is being tested at the Samarkand Tourist Center. This was announced today by the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov.
Sherzod Shermatov published screenshots of a program for measuring the speed of an Internet connection. According to the screenshot, the network is being tested by Uzmobile. The download speed was 873 - 896 Mbps, and the upload speed was 104-113 Mbps.
The Minister wrote that the Tourist Center will become a venue for international events and tourists’ recreation.
In the center, for the first time, all the country’s mobile operators jointly installed antenna infrastructure on one mast and implemented an active distributed antenna system (Active DAS) inside buildings, he noted. The Minister added that this allowed the provision of high quality services.
Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov noted that this year the annual Week of Information and Communication Technologies will be held at the Tourist Center in Samarkand from 24 to 27 October.
