Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 July, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The presidents of the two countries discussed issues on the bilateral and regional agenda, Akorda’s press service said in a statement. Topical issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance were considered, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan noted.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the timeliness of the decisions of the Uzbek leadership to ensure stability in Karakalpakstan. The President of Kazakhstan wished Shavkat Mirziyoyev success in holding a referendum on amending the Constitution, stressing that this event would be an important moment in the implementation of the program of large-scale political and socio-economic transformations in fraternal Uzbekistan.
Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level, including the promotion of cooperation projects in the field of industry, agriculture, transport, logistics, and mutual deliveries of products.
The heads of state also discussed the agenda of the upcoming Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders in Kyrgyzstan.
