Uzbekistan defeats Thailand in Fed Cup

Uzbekistan Fed Cup team defeated Thailand to clinch top spot in Group A of Asia/Oceania Zone Group I on 19 April.

 

Akgul Amanmuradova defeated Napaporn Tongsalee 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-2, while Iroda Tulyaganova lost to Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-3, 6-2.

 

Pair of Amanmuradova and Tulyaganova overplayed Tongsalee and Tanasugarn 6-4, 0-6 and 6-4 to beat Thailand 2-1.

 

Earlier, Uzbekistan defeated Singapore and South Korea, while lost to Hong Kong of China.
